WingTsun

Two sons in their father’s footsteps

Sifu Viktor Scheifele, 3rd TG WT, began to teach his twin sons Daniel and Michael when they were around eight years of age. Both now hold the 1st Technician grade and are WingTsun teachers themselves.

Sifu Victor began to teach his sons when they were approx. 8 years of age, and he formed a children’s group for the purpose. When this started, three other children attended the class apart from my sons. At first Sifu Scheifele kept things general, with plenty of basic techniques, kicking, pad work, stamina training, punching and response exercises. He also added grappling exercises in which they learned to throw opponents and free themselves when on the ground. These were among their favourite exercises, as they were really able to get rid of some energy. As is probably the case with most children, their enthusiasm was limited at first. Accordingly these one-hour lessons only took place twice each week.

When Daniel and Michael turned thirteen Sifu Scheifele had to separate the adolescents from the kids, so he formed a junior class.
It was roughly at this age that they discovered a real enthusiasm for WT.
They increased their training to five days per week, which is why they were already able to achieve the 12th student grade at the age of 15.

Their intensive training continued for another 1 ½ years or so. Until the great day came in September ‘05, when they were able to take their practical examination for the 1st TG with Sifu Kernspecht.

Since obtaining their 10th SG they have gradually taken over teaching the junior class. After a certain time they both realised that it would make sense to divide their efforts. Now each of them takes a separate class, and with great success.

In teaching his sons WT, Sifu Viktor Scheifele has given a very personal, literal meaning to his title of "father/teacher".
