Protection of personal data and confidentiality

We are unable to guarantee that information or personal data communicated to us will not be intercepted by third parties during transmission.

Cookies

Our webpage uses cookies. Cookies are small text files which are saved on the user's computer when visiting websites. Using these files, it is possible to assign the accessing of a single page during a session, and also a session, to a visitor returning to the website.

Apart from so-called session cookies, which are only temporarily stored in the RAM until the end of the session, there are also permanent cookies which are stored on the hard drive of the user's computer. Cookies are above all used to enhance user-friendliness when surfing. No harm can result from them, and it is also not possible to transmit viruses in this way.

You can control the use of cookies with the help of your browser. To do this you merely need to change the relevant browser settings. It is e.g. possible to have a message displayed before a cookie is accepted. Your browser allows numerous individual settings right up to complete deactivation of cookies.

Server log files

Server log files are data packages that are sent to us or to our provider (internet service provider) by your browser.

These packages contain the following information:

  • Browser type or browser version
  • The operating system used
  • The referrer URL (website from which you reached ours)
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Date and time of the server request
  • Your IP address

We evaluate these data statistically so that we can optimise our internet site and what it offers you. There is no other purpose. The data are not linked with other data of any kind that we may already hold. Neither are the data assigned to specific individuals.

Contact form

You can use our contact form if you have any questions or suggestions. We assure you that we will only use the personal data you send us by using the contact form or sending off your message for the purpose of establishing contact as requested. Your data will then be immediately deleted.

We will treat your data as highly confidential while they are being processed. If you wish to, you can find out about any data we have stored about you at any time, or have them deleted. In these cases please simply send an email to headoffice@ewto.com.

Data protection notes for the use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, text files which are saved to your computer and allow an analysis of your use of the website. The cookie-generated information about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA, where it is stored. In cases where IP anonymisation has been activated on this website, Google will however abbreviate your IP address beforehand within member states of the European Union or in other states subscribing to the agreement. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports about website activities and provide further services associated with website and internet use to the website operator. The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be linked to other data held by Google. You can prevent the saving of cookies by means of corresponding browser software settings, however we should point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. In addition you can prevent the registration by Google of data (incl. your IP address) generated by the cookie and related to the use of our website, as well as processing of these data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Data protection notes for the use of Google +1

Our website uses the "+1" button of the social network Google Plus, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States ("Google"). The button is recognisable by the " +1" characters on a white or coloured background. When you access a page on our website that contains such a button, your browser will make a direct connection with the Google servers. The content of the " +1" button is sent directly to your browser by Google, and integrated into the website. We therefore have no influence over the data that Google registers with the button. According to Google, no personal data are registered if the button is not clicked. Such data, among them the IP address, will only be registered and processed in the case of members who have logged-in. Please see Google's data protection notes on the "+1" button to find out more about the purpose and extent of data registration and further processing or use by Google, as well as your rights in this respect and the settings available to you to protect your privacy: http://www.google.com/intl/de/+/policy/+1button.html. If you are a Google Plus member and do not wish Google to collect data about you via our website, linking them to membership data stored at Google, you must log-out of Google Plus before visiting our website.

Data protection notes for the use of Facebook plug-ins

Plug-ins from the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA are integrated into our web pages. You can recognise these plug-ins by the Facebook logo or the "Like" button on our pages. An overview of Facebook plug-ins may be found here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/. When you visit our website, a direct connection is made via the plug-in between your browser and the Facebook server. This gives Facebook the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the Facebook "Like" button while you are logged-in to your Facebook account, you can link the contents of our pages to your Facebook profile. This enables Facebook to assign your visit to our website to your user account. We wish to point out that as the operator of the site, we receive no information about the content of the transmitted data and its use by Facebook. You can find out more about this from Facebook's data protection notes at http://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php. If you do not wish Facebook to be able to assign the visit to our website to your Facebook user account, please log-out of your Facebook user account beforehand.

Data protection notes for the use of Twitter

Functions from the web service Twitter are integrated into our web pages. These functions are offered by Twitter Inc., Twitter, Inc. 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. When you use Twitter and the "Re-Tweet" function, the websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and made known to other users. Data are also transmitted to Twitter in the process. We wish to point out that as the operator of the site, we receive no information about the content of the transmitted data and its use by Twitter. You can find out more about this from Twitter's data protection notes at http://twitter.com/privacy. You can change your privacy settings at Twitter by going to http://twitter.com/account/settings.
