WingTsun

The first WT seminar exclusively for women with visiting instructor Sifu Christine Maull

Sifu Christine was invited to Kassel by Sabine Mackrodt to hold a classic WingTsun seminar exclusively for women. Women even came to Kassel from schools in other areas, e.g. Frankfurt, Hanover ... to take part in this special seminar event.

The seminar was technically well structured, but also reality-based – the motto being: "Don’t immediately think of giving way, but think of the counter-attack and execute it!" Sifu Christine impressed the participants with her directness and energy when countering the various attacks of the students. They were hardly able to start their attacks on Sifu Christine before an immediate counter-attack was launched. "First let’s see if the attack is any good!" Sifu Christine’s main aim was to ensure that the students did not mechanically “regurgitate“ a prescribed programme, but rather developed the function and implementation of the WT principles successfully.

This was also the first seminar exclusively for women since the school in Kassel was opened 12 years ago.

Being taught by a highly graded women like Sifu Christine, who conducted the whole thing in her usual pleasant and calm manner, was a very special experience for all the participants.

The seminar weekend was also a premiere for Sifu Christine, as this was the first time she had been invited to another WT school as a visiting instructor.

Next day the programme included a WingTsun ChiKung seminar for interested women, which was also held by Sifu Christine. For all the participants this was their first contact with the ChiKung health-promoting system offered by the EWTO. The youngest participant was just 8 years old, and interestingly enough she had already taken part in the women’s WT seminar the previous day.

Once the basic WT ChiKung form had been absolved, any remaining doubts about the effectiveness of WT ChiKung were removed and bodily awareness had improved. Even one day after the seminar there was a definite feeling of wellbeing and physical equilibrium.

The seminar was so well received by the women that the whole thing simply must be repeated and continued! Perhaps as soon as autumn 2004, but at the latest in 2005. Perhaps this special event will attract even more women to the WingTsun martial arts school by women for women in Kassel run by Sabine Mackrodt.
