Escrima

It's finished!

Size A 4, weighing almost 1.5 kilograms, 300 pages of distilled knowledge illustrated with more than 700 photos: the Escrima opus by Master Bill Newman

Although we at the school in Maintal were always kept up-to-date about the latest developments by Master Bill, it is wonderful to hold the book in one’s hands at last and leaf through its pages for the first time. It recalls many memories and positive moments associated with this masterpiece.
The photos in the old, ruined castle in Rodenstein, the fencing scenes outside Philippsruhe Castle, the tournament in Maintal, the video sessions, etc., etc. There is never a dull moment when you go on tour with Master Bill ...
Apart from the sheer size and scale of the book, the large amount of hitherto unpublished text and graphic material is impressive. Master Bill and his team held well over a dozen photo sessions for the illustrations alone.
I recommend this book wholeheartedly. It offers the beginner an initial overview of the martial art of Escrima, the advanced student a deeper insight into its various aspects and the instructor useful explanatory and demonstration material. This is a treasure-trove which should form part of any martial arts library.
